O Holy What?

In honor of (or perhaps, quite unintentionally, to dishonor) the upcoming holiday, I have to share this update of a Christmas classic.

I hope it brings all of you as much joy as it brought a building full of cranky people, forced to teach sugar-high teenagers for four worthless hours the day before a holiday break.

"Doe, a deer..."

Thanks to my darling sister, Cara, for making my day with this video. I don't care if it's likely staged. Even the thought of strangers spontaneously dancing to the music and choreography of The Sound of Music is enough to put a smile on my face.

I'm bringing this same magic to Union Station the next time I go down to D.C.

Ukraine Does Pop

One of Matt's coworkers is from Ukraine. Usually, he doesn't laugh at Matt's comments a la Yakov Smirnoff ("In Soviet Ukraine, car drive you!"), but every once in a while, he unearths a comedic jewel from his homeland that even he can't help but laugh at.

To understand the video, you have to have heard Katy Perry's "Hot 'n' Cold." Try to make it through the first chorus at least:

Then watch this version and tell me that it isn't 100 times better.

I especially like the fact that they refer to Katy Perry as "Katerina Perova."
