"Take me out to the ballgame..."

It's baseball season again! I love a good football game or hockey fight as much as the next person, and I played basketball for years, but there's something truly unique and wonderful about baseball. My version of heaven is a double-header on a sunny summer afternoon with plenty of peanuts and lots of cold beer. Matt sent me this map of "The United Countries of Baseball," which is a great representation of Major League Baseball:

It's just a shame that the glorious team from the upper Midwest is only coming to Baltimore for two games this year.

And your appreciation only grows as you get older. Anyone who says baseball is a boring sport doesn't truly understand the subtle nuances of the game. Looking forward to seeing a game in DC or Baltimore in June.

Interesting. However, I think this map needs to have some overlap built in, as there are apparently a lot of leftover Twins fans in Washington from the pre-Mariners days (the gospel according to my boss from Seattle), and Cardinals Nation and Cubs Nation coincide more than you'd think.

That is a great map. Now you know what to get me for my birthday.
